"Thieves Target gun safes"
If you are a registered owner in New South Wales, expect to get a call from the police in the near future. They are trying to get on top of an increase in gun theft, by checking owners are storing their weapons correctly. And it's not just the firearms that are being stolen, its the whole gun safe, and people living in rural and remote areas are most at risk.
Detective Andrew McLean from the Canobolas Command says "some people sell them, some use them; our biggest concern is that they will be used in the commission of other criminal offences"
